Dr Daniel Czech

Project Engineer - BLUSE/MeerKAT

After completing his PhD in 2019, Daniel Czech joined Breakthrough Listen as a postdoctoral scholar, working on an automated commensal SETI observing system for MeerKAT. His research also involves SETI target selection for interferometric arrays (e.g. COSMIC at the VLA) and signal detection for technosignature searches. His PhD research, conducted at the University of Cape Town, involved developing both software and instrumentation for identifying transient radio frequency interference using classical and machine learning techniques. His interests are SETI, signal processing and machine learning, having also worked on computational neuroscience and neuromorphic engineering projects in the past.
