Dave MacMahon

Dave joined the Radio Astronomy Lab at UC Berkeley in 2003 where he developed digital backend instrumentation and software for the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) and the Combined Array for Research into Millimeter-wave Astronomy (CARMA). He moved on to work the Precision Array for Probing the Epoch or Reionization (PAPER), which has evolved into the Hydrogen Epoch of Reionization Array (HERA). 

Dave’s first SETI project was the Search for Extraterrestrial Radio Emission from Nearby Developed Intelligent Populations sixth generation (SERENDIP VI). The Breakthrough Listen project tapped Dave to be their Chief Engineer when the program was launched in 2015.
